Calling all little ones! Join us at Blue Water Cafe on Saturday, 5 December for a special interactive story time session of Marigold and the Faraway Tree (Penguin Random House), with author Alison Fast and illustrator Wendy Paterson.

Inspired by a real-life tree that stands at the back of Blue Water Cafe, next door to the Higgeldy Piggeldy Farmyard, Marigold and the Faraway Tree is a simple tale, full of universal wisdom, that encourages children to plant “seeds” of kindness, happiness and friendship in their lives.

Voted one of South African’s top children’s book for the holiday season in 2014, the book enlivens the imagination, and makes a great springboard for numerous interactive activities and explorations.

The book features colourful illustrations – including hearts, hidden animals, chameleons, and peacocks – that will delight readers of all ages.

“One of six top choice children’s books from South African children’s literature. The happiest picture book I have met for a long time, with rich detailed pictures and a story that says ‘Enjoy life and care for others’.” – Jay Heale, Bookchat
